    On Saturday 6 May at 10.30am, a memorial stone for Michael Heaviside VC will be unveiled during a special service in St Giles. Heaviside was awarded the VC during WW1 whilst serving with the DLI and the service marks the centenary of his heroic act.
    We will be welcoming members of Michael Heaviside’s family, as well as local dignitaries including the Lord Lieutenant of Durham to this commemoration service.
    All are welcome to attend this service, please be seated in good time.

    Our annual All Souls memorial service is next Sunday 5 November at 6pm in St Giles'. This is a very special service for us this year as we welcome Rt Revd Mark Bryant, Bishop of Jarrow to the service to dedicate our new Book of Remembrance and Cabinet.

    We welcome anyone who wishes to remember someone precious to them and invite you to come and participate in the service. If you would like a name to be remembered in prayer, please either add the name to the sheet in church or email office@stgilesdurham.org.uk

    Our annual Remembrance Day service will take place on Sunday 12 November. It begins with a service in St Giles Church with 4th Durham (Gilesgate) Scout Group. We then gather at 10.50am at the St Giles WW1 memorial for the act of remembrance. All are welcome to this service.

On Wednesday mornings you can come along to our weekday communion service. If you do not wish to come to the service, you can also pop along to the coffee and chat which follows the service.
